Hey everyone! ☕️
This week, I checked out a new spot in Nashville called Babu Café, and while it’s generating quite the buzz, my visit was a bit of a mixed bag. If you’re considering stopping by for a quick coffee and a bite, here’s my full review!
Coffee Shop of the Week:
Environment: 5/10 🌟
Babu Café has a trendy, modern look that’s eye-catching, but the space is tiny and often crowded. It’s great if you’re just passing through, but it’s not ideal for those looking to relax or spend some time inside. The noise level is high, making it feel more hectic than cozy. If you’re a fan of hustle and bustle, you might enjoy it, but if you prefer a peaceful setting, this isn’t the spot for you.
Study Location: 3/10 📚
With limited seating and constant activity, Babu Café falls short as a study or work spot. The noise level can be overwhelming, and the tight space means finding a place to sit is often a challenge. If you need a quiet, focused environment, you’re better off heading somewhere else.
Coffee: 6/10 ☕
The coffee is decent, definitely good enough for a quick caffeine boost, but it won’t leave you raving. It’s a solid option if you’re in the area and need a drink on the go, but in a city full of amazing coffee spots, it’s not the standout. Still, it does the job, and for some, that’s enough.
Pastries: 8.5/10 🥐
Now, the pastries? Chef’s kiss! This is where Babu Café truly shines. They have a delicious array of baked goods that make up for some of the café’s other shortcomings. If you’re a pastry lover, you’ll definitely want to check them out.
Parking: 3/10 🚗
One major downside is the parking situation. There’s no dedicated parking, so you’ll have to deal with street parking or nearby lots, which can be a headache, especially during busy hours. Keep this in mind if you’re planning a visit.
Hours: 8 AM – 2 PM ⏰
Babu Café is perfect for an early morning pick-me-up or a midday treat. The limited hours mean it’s ideal for breakfast or a quick lunch stop but not a place for your evening coffee cravings. Make sure to plan your visit accordingly!
Rating: 5/10 🌟
Overall, Babu Café is best for a quick grab-and-go experience, especially if you’re craving some tasty pastries. The coffee is decent, but the crowded environment, lack of parking, and high noise level make it less than ideal for staying a while. If you’re in the area and don’t mind a bustling vibe, it’s worth a stop for the baked goods alone!

I agree! Cafe Babu is def not a good place to study. It’s more of a good “grab and go” place.

It seems like a cool place for pastries, definitely will take a mental note for that when I get the cravings!
